Introductlon
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and dellver
asphalt/concrete premium diamond blades at specified unit prlces,
plus appllcable sales tax.
Backqround
In response to publlshed Notlces Invitlng Blds (published May 16
and 17, 1995) to furnlsh and dellver asphalt/concrete premium
diamond blades in accordance wlth City specifications, bids were
received and publicly opened and read on June 2, 1995. proposal
forms were mailed to six vendors and notices were advertised in
accordance with City Charter and Municlpal Code provisions. SlX
proposals were received as follows'

The ltems covered by the bid include assorted sizes of
asphalt/concrete blades that are used by various departments in the
repair and maintenance of asphalt and concrete surfaces throughout
the City
Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets City
specifications.
Budqet/Financlal Impact
Fiscal Year 1995-96 appropriation authority for thlS purchase is in
the maintenance accounts of various departments. As the materlals
are drawn out of inventory, they wlll be expensed against available
FY 1995-96 approprlation authority.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bld #2527 be made to White Cap
at specified unit prlces, plus appllcable sales tax, as the lowest
and best bidder.
