SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnlsh and Deliver Two
(2 ) New CNG Powered One-Ton Cab and Chassis, Bid #2556
Introductlon
This report concerns an award of bid to furnlsh and deliver two (2 )
new CNG powered one-ton cab and chassis for the Water Division,
EnVlronmental and Public Works Management Department, in the total
amount of $61,728 48, including applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to publlshed Notices Invltlng Bids (publl shed
December 7, 8, 1995} to furnlsh and deliver two (2 ) new CNG powered
one-ton cab and chassls in accordance with Clty specificatlons,
bids were received and publlCly opened and read on January 10,
1996. Proposal forms were mailed to ten vendors and notices were
advertlsed ln accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code
provisions. Two proposals were received as follows:

Downey Auto Center $71,376.52
These unlts will be used to test, exchange [ and transport ~ 6 1996
water meters[ and wlll replace two older units. The purch~e f>f
