Introduction
This report concerns an award of bid to furnish and deliver various street name signs for the
Traffic Englneenng DIvIsion, Planning and Community Development Department, In the total
amount of $196,554.11, Includmg applicable sales tax.

In response to published NoticE's Inviting Bids (published March 5 and 6, 1996) to furnish and
deliver vanous street name signs In accordance with City specificatIOns, bids were received
and publicly opened and read on March 18, 1996 Proposal forms were maIled to three (3)
vendors and notices were advertised In accordance With City Charter and MUnicipal Code
prOVISions Three proposals were receIved as follows

In December 1995, the CounCil adopted the Citywide graphic Identity program and directed
staff to begin Implementation The first phase of the program Includes the installation of
street name signs at all intersections and the larger street name signs at signalized
Intersections The Identity logo will also be Installed at several key locatIOns.
Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that It meets City speCificatIOns

It IS recommended that the award of Bid #2560 be made to Zumar Industrres, Inc In the total
