Introductton
ThIS IS to recommend that the Cay CotUlcIl authorIze the CIty Manager to negotIate and
execute an amendment to the agreement between KPMG Peat MarwIck and the CIty to
provIde two addItIonal years of audit servIces
Background
As a result of a Request for Proposal process, KPMG Peat MaIWlCk entered mto an agreement
WIth the CIry on July 9. 1991. to proVIde five years of audn serVIces F or thIS penod.
KPMG Peat Man\"1ck has provIded excellent audItIng servIces to the CIty at competIttve costs
Due to mutual audIt systems and procedural Improvements. KPMG Peat MarWlck IS prepared
to commIt for a penod of two years to a fixed fee arrangement for all general CIty audns for
a cost of $.83.250. whIch IS about 12% less than current costs. and at the current rate for two
speCIalIzed audIts the Asset SeIzure Program ($7.500) and the Senous HabItual Offender
Program ($3.750)

Budllet/FmancIal Impact

amendment to the current agreement between KPMG Peat MarwIck and the CIty to provide
two addmonal years of audIt services
