Background On October 9, 1979, City Council approved a s~dewalc repair px•ograrl which provided far broperty owner part~cipatior: ire the cost of repairing damaged sidewalks Residential property owner participation is 500 of the cost cf the repairs ?f the damage is related to tree rents, wzth the City pay~rc the remainir_c 5Co o the repair costs. Property owners are assessed 10~~a c•f the cost if the damage is not related to tree rods aria commercial property owners are assessed 100% cf the cosy regardless cf the cause of the damage. All protests or objections must be in writing and filed with the City Clerk an cr befcre the time set for the hearing of the protests and objections SECTION 4 The Superintendent of Streets is hereby directed to mail nctices, in the manner and form prescribed by law, of the costs of repair and of the adoption of this Resolution to all persons owning real property affected by the sidewalk assessment repair program, whose names and addresses appear on the last eaual~zed assessment roll for the City taxes or as knowr_ tc the City Clerk.
