SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Trim Miscellaneous
Trees, Bid #2404
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to trim miscellaneous trees for
the Parks Division, Cultural and Recreation Services Department,
at specified unit prices, including two one-year renewal options.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
February 13 and 14, 1992) to trim miscellaneous trees in
accordance with City specifications, bids were received and
publicly opened and read on March 19, 1992. Proposal forms were
mailed to eleven (11) vendors and notices were advertised in
accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. six
(6) proposals were received as follows:

staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets City
specifications. staff has checked the references and finds the
low bidder to be a reputable company.
BUdget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1991/92 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Parks Division,
CuI tural and Recreation Services
Department, account number 01-400-512-00000-5501-00000. For the
period of July 1, 1992 through June 30, 1993, appropriation
authority will be as set forth in the fiscal year 1992/93 budget.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2404 be made to West
Coast Arborists, Inc. at specified unit prices, including two
one-year renewal options, as the lowest and best bidder.
