Rated (GVWR) Cab and Chassis with Sewer Rodder Type
Body, Bid #2399
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one ( 1)
new and unused 15,000 GVWR cab and chassis with sewer rodder type
body for the Wastewater Division, General Services Department, in
the total amount of $56,100.38, including applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to pUblished Notices Inviting Bids (published
February 28, 1992 and March 2, 1992) to furnish and deliver
one (1) new and unused 15,000 GVWR cab and chassis with sewer
rodder type body in accordance with City specifications, bids
were received and publicly opened and read on March 17, 1992.
proposal forms were mailed to twenty-six vendors and notices were
advertised in accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code
provisions. Two proposals were received as follows:

Thorson Old's Buick GMC, Inc. $57,556.53
This unit replaces a ten (10) year old vehicle and will be used
for waste line maintenance. It will be propane powered and is
not available in any other alternate fuel source.
staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets city
specifications.
Budget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 2991/92 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Capital Improvement Budget, Sewer and Water category,
account numbers 31-760-661-20092-8900-99302 ($56,000.00) and
31-760-661-20092-8900-99304 ($100.38), Wastewater Rodding Truck."
Recommendation
It is reconunended that the award of Bid #2399 be made to
SRECO-Flexible in the total amount of $56,10Q.38, including
applicable tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
