SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Modify Existing City Truck,
and Install 22-Cubic Yard Front Loading Refuse Body and
Side Lift Pockets, Bid #2380
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to modify existing city truck, and
install 22-cubic yard front loading refuse body and side lift pockets
for the Beach Maintenance Division, Cultural and Recreation Services
Department, at specified prices, inclUding applicable sales tax.
Background
In
response
to
published
Notices
Inviting
Bids
(published
September 17 and 18, 1991) to modify existing city truck, and install
22-cubic yard front loading refuse body and side lift pockets in
accordance with City specifications, bids were received and publicly
opened and read on October 15, 1991. Proposal forms were mailed to
five vendors and notices were advertised in accordance with city
Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Four proposals were received
as follows:

staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets city
specifications.
BUdget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1991/92 appropriation authority for this purchase is in
the Capital Improvement Program budget, account number 11-740-
521-20092-8900-99233, "Beach Maintenance Equipment Upgrade."
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2380 be made to Compaction
Control Industries, Inc. at specified prices, including applicable
tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
