Rated Cab and Chassis with Stake Bed and Lift Gate,
Bid #2376
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (1)
new and unused 11,000 Gross Vehicle Weight Rated (GVWR) Cab and
Chassis with stake Bed and Lift Gate for the Parks Division,
Cultural and Recreation Services Department, in the total amount
of $19,516.25, including applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
september 3 and 4, 1991) to furnish and deliver one (1) new and
unused 11,000 GVWR Cab and Chassis with Stake Bed and Lift Gate
in accordance with city specifications, bids were received and
publicly opened and read on September 23, 1991. Proposal forms
were mailed to twelve vendors and notices were advertised in
accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions.

Staff has evaluated the low bid for a propane powered vehicle and
finds that it meets City specifications.
A propane powered
rather than gasoline powered vehicle is recommended as part of
the City'S program to improve air quality.
BUdget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1991/92 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Parks Division,
CuI turaI and Recreation services
Department, account number 01-400-511-00000-8806-00000.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2376 be made to Reynolds
BuiCk in the total amount of $19,516.25, including applicable
tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
