Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (1)
New and Unused Propane Powered 4000 lb. Forklift Truck for the
Civic Auditorium Division, eultural and Recreation Services
Department,
in the total amount of $15,846.02,
including
applicable sales tax.

Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published August
26 and 27, 1991) to furnish and deliver One (1) New and Unused
propane Powered 4000 lb. Forklift Truck in accordance with eity
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read
on september 17, 1991.
Proposal forms were mailed to four
vendors and notices were advertised in accordance with eity
Charter and Municipal Code provisions.

The low bid submitted by Johnson Lift does not meet specifi-
cations because the engine power is not equipped for high
temperature shut downs.
staff has evaluated the bid submitted by Forklift Sales and finds
that it meets eity specifications.
BUdget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1991j92 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the eivic Auditorium Division, Cultural and Recreation
Services Department, account number 32-400-621-00000-8850-00000.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the bid from Johnson Lift be rejected and
award Bid #2374 be made to Forklift Sales in the total amount of
$15,846.72, including applicable tax, as the lowest and best
bidder.
