SUBJECT: Negotiate the Sale of a 1990 Chevrolet Caprice Classic
to Retiring Police Chief James Keane
Introduction
This report concerns negotiating the sale of a 1990 Chevrolet
Caprice Classic to retiring Police Chief James Keane at fair
market value plus applicable sales tax.
Background
Police Chief James Keane has served the city of Santa Monica
Police Department for thirty four (34) years and will be retiring
from service on september 9, 1991. In 1990, staff purchased a
Chevrolet Caprice Classic for use by the Police chief in
performing his day to day operations.
Recommendation
In view of Chief Keane I s retirement from the City of Santa
Monica, it is recommended that the 1990 Chevrolet Caprice classic
be sold to him at fair market value.
