Introduction: This report requests the adoption of the attached Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a Grant of Easement to the Southern California Edison Company for the installation and maintenance of the underground electrical supply system at 1123- 1135 3rd street, Santa Monica, California. On May 13, 1986, the city council authorized Retirement Housing Foundation to develop a two story parking garage and construct 72 federally subsidized senior housing units at 1121-1135 Third street. On December 7, 1990, BUD approved a final funding commitment for the project and in February 1991 the project began . construction. The parking structure component of the project is now completed and Southern California Edison requires an easement to the underground electrical vault that is below the parking structure. In order for Edison to complete the installation of the building transformer and to maintain access to it, the city must grant an easement to Edison. 6-:8 SEP 2 4 '---")1 .a. ~. _.' : . . Drawing No. 4512 will be filed in the Office of the City Engineer. The Grant of Easement will be recorded by Southern California Edison.
