Introduction
This report recommends award of bid to furnish and deliver plumbing fixtures and
plumbing parts for the EnVironmental Programs DIVISion, EnVironmental and Public
Works Management Department, at specified Unit pnces, plus applicable sales tax, WIth
two one-year renewal options
Backaround
In response to published Notices InVIting Bids (published November 5 and 6, 1998) to
furnish and deliver plumbing fixtures and plumbing parts In accordance WIth City
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read on November 18,
1998 Proposal forms were mailed to seven vendors and notices were advertised In
accordance With City Charter and MUniCipal Code proVIsIons Three proposals were
received as follows

The Items covered by this bid mclude plumbing fixtures and plumbing parts used In the
City's "Bay Saver" direct Install program This program provides ultra low flow tOilet and
water conserving showerhead retrofitting at no charge to Santa Monica residents and
utility users The program provides approximately 1,000 reSidential Installations at a
cost of $75 each and approximately 100 commerclalrnstallatlons at a cost of $150 each
per year
Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that It meets City speCifications
