Introduction
ThlS report provldes members of the City COl.nCll vllth lnformatlon regard1ng
compensat1on for C1ty Boards and Comrn1SS1ons.
Background
At the1r regular meet1ng on July 28, 1981, the C1ty Counc1l dlrected staff to
report on the f1scal expense 1nvorved 1f.all Board and Comm1ssion members were
reimbursed on a per-meeting basls, for meetlngs attended.
The attached chart lndicates alternative compensation expense lf board and
commission members are pa1d $15 or $25 per meet1ng dur1ng the fiscal year.
Note that the flgures (1) exclude add1t1onal compensation to CounCil Members
who act as COffimlttee liaison, and (2) lnclude four (4) ant1cipated new boards
and/or commlssions (indicated by an *).

To compensate 17 comm1ttees wlth membership varY1ng from 5 - 12 members, at
a flat rate of $15 per meetlng, costs would equal $26,340. At the rate of
$25 per meetlng, approx1mate cost 1S $43,900. The attached chart d1splays
thlS information including est1mated number of meetings per year.
