SUBJECT: SupplIes and Services for General Municipal Election
, Introduction
This report presents a contract for award on a bid in the
amount of $24,661.61 for furnlshing of supplles and serVIces
for the General MunIcipal Electlon to be held April 10, 1979.
Background
The Charter of the Clty reqUIres that a General MunIcipal ElectIon
be held on April 10, 1979. Pursuant to SectIon 10000 of the
CalIfornia ElectIons Code, specificatIons were prepared and a

notIce publIshed invItlng bids for furnIshIng electIon serVlces
and supplies for the AprIl 1979 MunIcipal Election. The proposal
requested services and supplies for 75 voting precincts. There
wIll be three Council vacancies and four vacanCIes on the Board
of Education. ''ie estimate that there wIll be five measures.
The following bids were receIved and opened on October 30, 1978:
Diamond Internatlonal Corporation 531,175.55
Martin & Chapman Co. 524,661.61
RecommendatIon
It is respectfully recommended that the award be made to MartIn
& Chapman Co. as the lowest and most responsIve bidder In the
total amount of $24,661.61.
