and Commissions
At its meeting on June 28, 19B3, the City Council
di rected the City Attorney to prepare a resolution
es tab li shing pe riodic review of boards and commissions. In
response to this direction, the accompanying resolution has
been prepared and is presented for City Council consideration.
RECOMMENDATION
It is respectfully recommended that the accompanying
resolution be adopted.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA ESTABLISHING
PERIODIC REVIEW OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS
WHEREAS, the City Council pursuant to Clty Charter
Seetlon 1100, has establlshed by ordlnanee or certaln boards
and comMissions; and
WHEREAS, the City Councll deSlres to reVlew periodically
the need to continue sueh boards and commlSSlons; and
WHEREAS, the Clty Counell deslres to reVlew oeriodically
the functlons and powers of such boards and commissions,
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF Skl1TA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION l. Each board and commlSSlon set forth below
shall prepare a report to the City Counell outlining its
powers and responsibilities, the continued need for its
existence, and any recommended alteration of its powers and
functlons accordlng to the following schedule:
(a) The Fair E1ectlons Practices CO!l1mission on or
before August 1, 1984, and on or before August 1 of each third
year thereafter.
