A petltlon s~gned by the requlslte nu~ber of e11g1ble
persons concernlng an lnltlatlve charter anend~ent propos1ng
a system of rent control has quallfled for the ;)a.llot. TillS
resolutlon w111 allo~ the proposed anendment to t~e c~arter
to ~e subnltted to the quallfled electors at the General Electlon
set ~or Aprll 10, 1979.
It 1S necessary to hold an electlon to flll four (4)
seats on t~e Governlng Board of the Santa Monlca Unlfled School
ulstrict. ThlS resolutlon will consollcate the Governlng Board
El ectlon lnto the Genera 1 :1uDlclpa 1 ElectloD. Because the
boundar18s of the school dlstrlct are not coternlnous wlth tne
boundarles for the runlcipal electlon. a speclal procedure wlll
~ave to be followed to provlde for notlce and ballots to those
voters tvho reslde outslde the terrltory of thf" munlclpal electlon.

SECTION 1. Tnat an e1ectlon to illl four (4) seats
on the Govcnnng Board of the Santa aonlca Unlfled School
Dlstrlct be consolldated wlth the general 8unlclpal electlon
to be held on Aprll 10, 1979. ?he Clty Clerk shall glve notlce
of the electlon pursuant to Section 5343 or the Callfornla
Educatlon Code and a sanple ballot and card contalnlng electlon
data shall be nalled to the voters pursuant to Sectlon 5364
of the Callfornla Educatlon Code. Separate ballots shall be
provlded for those voters who r8slde outslde t~e Clty of
Santa Monlca pursuant to Sectlons 23304 and 23301.5 of the
Callfornla Electlons Code.
SECTION 2. At the general ~unlcipal electlon, the

petltlon, to be walled to all quallfled voters wlth the
sample ballot at least ten (10) days prior to the electlon,
