SUBJECT: Municipal Code Revision

At its meeting on November 24, 1981, the City Council
introduced for fIrst reading an ordinance repealing 121
sections of the MunICIpal Code. The ordinance is now pre-
sented to the CIty Council for adoption.
RECOMMENDATION
It IS respectfully recommended that the accompanYIng
ordInance be adopted.

OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA REPEALING
VARIOUS SECTIONS OF THE SANTA MONICA
MUNICIPAL CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Sections 3320, 3358, 3358A, 3359, 3360,
3378, 3380, 3381,3501, 3502, 3503, 3504, 3507, 3508, 3700,
3700A, 3700B, 3700e, 3700D, 3700E, 3700F, 3700G, 3700H,

of the Santa Monica Municipal Code are hereby repealed.

SECTION 2. Any provision of the Santa Monica Municipal
Code or appendices thereto inconsistent with the provislons
of this ordinance, to the extent of such incons~stencies and
no further, is hereby repealed or modified to that extent
necessary to affect the provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 3. If any section, subsection, sentence,
clause, or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held to
be lnvalid or unconstitutional by a decision of any court of
competent jurisdiction, such decislon shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions of the ordinance. The
City Council hereby declares that it would have passed this
ordinance and each and ever-y section, subsection, sentence,
clause, or phrase not declared invalid or unconstitutional
wlthout regard to whether any portion of the ordlnance would
be subsequently declared invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 4. The Mayor shall s~gn and the Clty Clerk
shall attest to the passage of thlS ordinance. The city
Clerk shall cause the same to be published once in the
official newspaper within 15 days after its adoption. The
ordinance shall become effective 30 days from its adoption.
