Council Meeting March 23, 1999 Santa MOnica, California MAR 2 3 1999 TO Mayor and City Council FROM City Staff SUBJECT Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver One Gasoline Powered 4X4 Mini-Truck with Extended Cab, Bid #2744 Introduction ThiS report recommends award of bid to furnish and deliver one gasoline-powered 4x4 mini truck with extended cab for the Animal Regulation Unit, Police Department, In the total amount of $22,41670, including applicable sales tax Background The 4x4 mml truck Will replace a 1989 Ford Ranger which IS no longer cost-effective to repair It Will be used for animal control services such as picking up stray animals and transportmg them to the animal shelter In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published January 5 and 6, 1999) In accordance with City specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read on January 26, 1999 Proposal forms were mailed to 73 vendors and notices were advertised In accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provIsions Nine proposals were received as follows - 1 - (01 MAR 2 3 1999 - AMOUNT (Gasoline VENDOR Powered) 1) Advantage Ford $21,072 23 2) Bob Beaty Ford $21.47461 3) Robert Loud Ford $21,81238 4) Midway Ford $22,21746 5) Don Kot!
