SUBJECT: Adoption of Resolutlon Establishlng Salary for
Communications Management Supervisor and Library Page
INTRODUCTION
This report requests adoption of the attached salary resolution
establishing the salary rates for the classlfications of
Communications Management Supervisor and Library Page.
BACKGROUND
A reorganlzation In the pollce Department resulted in the creation
of the new position of Communicatlons Management Supervlsor. The
Communlcations Center was previously supervised by a Police
Sergeant. This non-sworn positlon will supervise the general
operatlon and all of the non-sworn employees in the Police
Department Communlcations Center. The salary for Communications
Management Supervisor is based on internal equity alignment factors
in relatlonship to comparable positions wlthin the City. The
salary for Library Page is being lncreased by $0.30 per hour based
on a salary survey of Library Pages in comparable cltles.
BUDGET/FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds are included in the budget for Flscal Year 1994-95 to cover

RECOMMENDATIONS
It is recommended that the City Councll adopt the attached salary
resolution establishing the new salary rates for the two pos~tion
classlf~cations.

CITY OF SANTA MONICA ADOPTING SALARY RATES
FOR THE NEW CLASSIFICATIONS OF
COMMUNICATIONS MANAGEMENT SUPERVISOR AND LIBRARY PAGE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The followlng monthly salary levels are hereby
established for the indlcated permanent classiflcations effective
July 1, 1994:
COMMUNICATIONS MANAGEMENT $4,279/Month E-Step
SUPERVISOR ($4,S78/Month with PERS)
LIBRARY PAGE $6.07/hr. A-Step
$6.37/hr. B-Step
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoptlon of this
Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be In
full force and effect
