Paper Towels, Seat Covers and Toilet Paper, Bld #2515
Introductlon
This report concerns award of b1d to furnish and del1ver paper
towels, seat covers and toilet paper at speclfied un1t prlces, plus
applicable sales tax.
Backqround
In response to publ~shed Notlces Inviting Blds (published september
15th and 16th, 1994) to furnl.sh and deliver paper towels, seat
covers and t01let paper in accordance w1th City specl.fications,
bids were received and publicly opened and read on October 3, 1994
Proposal forms were ma1led to elghteen vendors and notices were
advertised in accordance Wl.th City Charter and Munl.cipal Code
prOV1Slons. Four proposals were received as shown in the attached
tabulation. The ltems covered by thls bld lTIclude various
types/sizes of paper towels, seat covers and tOl1et paper WhlCh all
have a 100% total recycled content.
Waxie Sanitary Supply was the low bidder on four of the flve ltems.
Staff has revlewed the proposals and finds that it would not be
economically feasl.ble to split the bid award. DEe 1 3 199't

Staff has evaluated Waxie Sanltary Supply's bid and finds that it
meets City specificat~ons.
Budget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1994/95 appropriat1on authorlty for thlS purchase 1S the
malntenance accounts of varlOUS departments. As the materials are
drawn out of lnventory, they wlll be expensed aga1nst ava1lable FY
1994/95 appropriation authority.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2515 be made to Waxie
Sanitary Supply at speclfled un1t prices, plus applicable sales
tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
