Firefightlng Brush Coats and Pants, Bid #2513
Introduction
This report concerns award of bld to furnlsh and deliver
fireflghting brush coats and pants for the Flre Department, at
speclfied unit prlces, lncludlng applicable sales tax.
Backqround
In response to published Notices Invlting Bids (publlshed September
2 and 3, 1994) to furnlsh and deliver firefightlng brush coats and
pants in accordance wlth Clty specifications, bids were recelved
and publlcly opened and read on September 22, 1994. Proposal forms
were mailed to three vendors and notlces were advertlsed ln
accordance with City Charter and Municlpal Code provislons Three
proposals were received as follows:

The coats and pants will be used by Clty personnel to comply with
Cal-OSHA (Regulatlon #34.10-D lIWildland Firefightlng") requlrements
for fightlng non-structural flres
Staff has evaluated the low bid and flnds that it meets City
speciflcations.
Budqet/Financial Impact
Flscal Year 1994-95 appropriatlon authority for thlS purchase is In
the supplies and expense accounts of varlOUS dlvisions of the Fire
Department. As the materlals are ordered, they will be expensed
agalnst these accounts.
Recommendatlon
It is recommended that the award of Bld #2513 be made to Allstar
Flre Equlpment, Inc. at speclfled unlt prices, including applicable
tax, as the lowest and best bldder.
