Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver
hydraulic valve parts and miscellaneous water supplies for the
~later Division,
General Services Department,
at speci f ied
manufacturer discounts plus applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published June 2
and 3, 1993) to furnish and deliver hydraulic valve parts and
miscellaneous
water
supplies
in
accordance
with
city
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read
on June 17, 1993. Proposal forms were mailed to five vendors and
notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter and
Municipal Code provisions.

These hydraulic valve parts are used to regulate valves at four
Water Stations.
staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets City
specifications.
Budget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1993/94 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Water Division, General Services Department, account
number 25-500-671-00000-4401-00000.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2463 be made to Davis
Taylor Jett at specified manufacturer discounts, including
applicable sales tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
