Introduction
This staff report requests that the Clty Councll adopt the
attached resolutlon wnlch deslgnates the City's authorized
representatlves ln dealing wlth the Callfornia Office of
EITergency SerVlces and the Federal Emergency Management Agency
Discussion
On January 17, 1994 the Clty of Santa Monica experlenced a major
earthquake WhlCh caused slgnlflcant damage wlth1n portlons of the
Clty. Very soon after the earthquake a state and federal
dlsaster area was declared WhlCh included the Clty of Santa
Monlca The Clty 1S entitled to recelve relmbursement as
authorlzed by the Stafford Act of 1974, (PL 93 -288) , as
admlnlstered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency ( FEMA)
and the Governor's Office of Emergency Servlces (OES)
In order to receive this relmbursement, FEMA and OES require the
City Council adopt a resolutlon des1gnatlng offlclal
representatives for purposes of Slgnlng offlclal documentatlon.

Katle Lichtlg, Senior Management Analyst as off~cial
representatlves for the City of Santa Monlca
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the Clty Councll adopt the attached
resolutlon deslgnatlng officlal city representatlves for the
purposes of receiving reimbursement from the Federal Emergency
Management Agency.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA DESIGNATING
THE CITY'S AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVES
DEALING WITH THE CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES
AND THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY
WHEREAS, on January 17, 1994, the Clty of Santa Monica

MONICA DOES DESIGNATE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. John Jall1l, City Manager and Katie E. Lichtig,
Senlor Management Analyst as offlclal representatlves for the
Clty of Santa Monlca.
