Santa Monica Municipal Code Section 3347A is amended to read as follows: SECTION 3347A. MOdification of state Speed Limits in certain Zones. After review made pursuant to California Vehicle Code Sect~on 627, it is hereby determlned that the speed permitted by state law upon the following streets, or portions thereof, lS inappropriate for the safe operation of vehicles by reason of the prevailing speeds as determined by traffic englneering measurements, accident records, and highway traffic and roadside conditions, and accordingly, the prima facie speed limit for these streets, or portions thereof, shall be as - 1 - . . follows when signs are erected givlng notice thereof: ( 1) 45 Miles Per Hour: (a) Olympic Boulevard from 11th Street to Centinela Avenue. (2) 35 Miles Per Hour: (a) San vicente Boulevard from Ocean Avenue to 26th street. (b) Broadway from 26th street to Centinela Avenue. (c) Colorado Avenue from Lincoln Boulevard to centinela Avenue. (d) Pico Boulevard from Ocean Avenue to centinela Avenue. (e) Ocean Park Boulevard from 14th street to centinela Avenue. ( f) Barnard Way from the southeasterly Prolongation Line of pier Avenue to Hollister Avenue. Any provision of the Santa Monica Municipal Code or appendices thereto inconsistent with the provisions of thlS ordinance, to the extent of such inconsJ.stencies and no further, are hereby repealed or modified to that extent necessary to affect the provisions of this ordinance. SECTION 3 . If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a decision of any court of any competent jurisd~ct1.on, such dec~s~on shall not affect the validity of the remalning portions of this Ordinance. The City Councll hereby declares that it would have passed this Ordlnance, and each and every section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase not declared l.nValld or unconstitutional wlthout regard to whether any portion of the Ordinance would be subsequently declared invalid or unconstitutional. SECTION 4. The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk shall attest to the passage of this Ordinance. The City Clerk shall cause the same to be published once in the official newspaper - 5 - . , . within 15 days after its adoption.
