SUBJECT An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Santa MOnica Deleting
Vanous Sections of the Santa Monica Munlclpal Code Relating to the
DeSignation of Preferential Parking Zones
INTRODUCTION
At Its meetmg on November 10, 1998, the City Council Introduced for first reading an
ordinance deleting vanous sections of the MunicIpal Code relating to the deSignation of
preferential parking zones The ordinance IS now presented to the City Council for
adoption
RECOMMENDATION
It IS respectfully recommended that the accompanYing ordinance be adopted

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA DELETING VARIOUS SECTIONS
OF THE SANTA MONICA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
THE DESIGNATION OF PREFERENTIAL PARKING ZONES
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monrca has changed the process for designating
preferential parking zones, and,
WHEREAS, preferential parking zones can now be desIgnated by resolution;
and,
WHEREAS, It IS appropriate to delete eXlstmg sections of the Santa Monrca
Municipal Code designating preferential parkmg zones and re-desglnate the zones by
resolution,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES ORDAI N AS FOLLOWS
SECTION 1 Sections 308120. 308130, 308140, 308150, 308160,
308 170, 308 180, 308 190, 308200, 308210, 308220, 308230, 308240,
308250, 308260, 308270, 308280, 308290, 308300, 308310, 308320,
3 08 330, 308 340, 308 350, 308 360, 3 08370, 308 380, 308 390, 308400,
308410, 308420, 308430, 308440, 308450, 308460, 308470, 308480,
308490. 308 500, 308510, 308520 and 308540 of the Santa Monrca MUnicipal
Code are deleted
SECTION 2 Any proVIsion of the Santa Monica MUnicipal Code or appendices
thereto inconsistent With the proVIsions of this Ordinance, to the extent of such
InconSistencies and no further, are hereby repealed or modIfied to that extent
necessary to affect the proVIsions of thIs Ordinance
SECTION 3 If any sectIon, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase of thIs
Ordinance IS for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a deCISion of any
court of any competent JUriSdIctIon, such decIsIon shall not affect the validIty of the
remaining portions of this Ordinance The City CounCil hereby declares that It would

have passed this Ordmance, and each and every section, subsection, sentence,
clause, or phrase not declared Invalid or unconstitutional without regard to whether any
portion of the Ordinance would be subsequently declared mvalld or unconstitutional
SECTION 4 The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk shall attest to the passage
of this Ordinance The City Clerk shall cause the same to be published once In the
official newspaper within 15 days after Its adoption This Ordinance shall become
effective after 30 days from Its adoption
