Introduction
This report recommends that the City Council waive the competitive bidding reqUirement
and authonze the City Manager to negotiate and execute a sole source purchase order
with K M E Fire Apparatus to furnish and deliver anginal equipment manufactured
(0 EM) ladder truck parts for a Fire Department truck
Backaround
K M E Fire Apparatus 0 E M ladder truck parts will be used to repair and replace worn-
out truck engine parts for a K M E fire truck K M E Fire Apparatus IS the sole
manufacturer and distributor of these parts OrdInance Number 1743 (GCS), Section 5,
paragraph 2 24 080 of the Santa MOnica MUnicipal Code allows exception to competitive
bidding when Items are purchased from a sole provider
