Authorize the City Manager to Negotiate and Execute a Sole Source
Purchase Order with Seating Components for Onglnal Equipment
Manufactured (0 EM) Bus Stop Bench Components and Repair Services
Introduction
This report recommends that the City Council waive the competitive bidding requirement
and authonze the City Manager to negotiate and execute a sole source purchase order
with Seating Components to furnish, deliver and repaIr/refurbish bus stop bench
components for the Transportation Department's bus benches at vanous bus stops
throughout the City
Background
These bus stop bench components Will be used to repair or replace damaged bus stop
benches Although there are other manufacturers of bus stop benches, Seating
Components IS the sole manufacturer and repair service provider of the bus stop benches
whIch are compatible with eXisting bus stop benches throughout the City Ordinance
Number 1743 (CCS), Section 5, paragraph 2 24 080 of the Santa MOnica MUnicipal Code
allows exception to competitive bidding when Items are purchased from a sole provider
