Results were as follows
1
John T Malloy, Inc
City Engineer's Estimate
$7,999,63925
$6,500,000
2
The bidder had prepared the proposal based upon replacing eXisting pipe uSing open cut
excavation City staff based their estimate on pipe replacement by uSing trenchless
methods Staff contacted all firms that received bid documents and the majority stated that
busy schedules prevented them from submitting bIds by the deadline They did say,
however, that If this project were rebid they would submIt a bid City staff finds It prudent
to re-advertlse the proJect, rather than awarding a contract to the only bidder, partIcularly
since this bId was substantially higher than the City Engineer's estimate
