Introduction
This report recommends award of bid to repair and recoat roof (CiVIC Auditorium) for the
Event FaCilities DIvIsion, Community and Cultural Services Department, In the total
amount of $62,707, mcludlng applicable sales tax
Backaround
In response to published Notices InvIting Bids (published August 26 and 27, 1998) In
accordance with City specifIcations, bIds were received and publicly opened and read on
September 15, 1998 Proposal forms were mailed to fourteen vendors and notices were
advertised In accordance With City Charter and MUnicipal Code proVisions Four
proposals were received as follows

The project consists of repairing damaged spots and recoatmg the roof of the CIVIC
Aud Itonum which has not been repalred/recoated over the last nine years Nine years
ago the roof project was successfully performed by Eberhard Roofing Staff has evaluated
the low bid and finds that It meets City specifications Eberhard Roofmg pays a portion of
the healthcare benefits to the field employees who will be workmg on City Jobs through the
employees union Roofers are paid the following hourly wages Apprentices $20 62,
