SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver
One ( 1) New and Unused 3/4 Ton 4 X 4 Pickup Truck,
Bid #2309
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (1)
New and Unused 3/4 Ton 4 X 4 Pickup Truck for the Beach
Maintenance Division, Cultural and Recreation Services
Department, in the total amount of $17,322.32, including
applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
September 10 and 11, 1990) to furnish and deliver one (1) New and
Unused 3/4 Ton 4 X 4 pickup Truck in accordance with City
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read
on october 2, 1990. Proposal forms were mailed to seven vendors
and notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter and
Municipal Code provisions. Two proposals were received as
follows:

Santa Monica Ford $17,322.32
Cummings Buick-GMC Truck $20,018.74
This vehicle will be used by the Harbor Patrol along the Pier and
beach areas. Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it
meets city specifications.
BUdget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1990/91 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Beach Maintenance Division, Cultural and Recreation
Services Department, account number 11-400-521-00000-8806-00000.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2309 be made to Santa
Monica Ford in the total amount of $17,322.32, including
applicable tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
