Introduction
ThIs report concerns an award of bid to furnish and deliver ductile Iron bell and spigot pipe
class 50, tyton JOint, at specIfied unit prices, plus applicable sales tax.
Backqround
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published June 4 and 5, 1996) to furnish and
deliver ductile Iron bell and spigot pipe class 50, tyton JOint, In accordance with City
speCifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read on June 19, 1996. Proposal
forms were maIled to four vendors and notIces were advertised In accordance with City
Charter and MUnicipal Code provIsions. Two proposals were received as follows:

of vanous departments As the matenals are drawn out of inventory, they Will be expensed
agamst avaIlable FY 1996-97 appropriatIon authorIty.
Recommendation
It IS recommended that the award of Bid #2576 be made to PaCifiC States Cast Iron Pipe
Company, at specified umt pnces, plus applicable sales tax, as the lowest and most
responsible bidder.
