Miscellaneous Trash Bin Parts, Bid #2593
Introduction
This report concerns award of bl.d to furnish and del~ver
miscellaneous trash bin parts for the Solid Waste Management
Divislon, Environmental and PubllC Works Management Department, at
specifled unit prlces, plus applicable sales tax.
Backqround
In response to published Notices Invi ting Bids (published August
16 and 17, 1996) to furnish and deliver miscellaneous trash bin
parts in accordance with City specifications, bids were received
and publicly opened and read on August 28, 1996. Proposal forms
were mailed to two vendors and notices were advertlsed in
accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Two
proposals were received as follows:

The City currently has approximately 4,000 metal refuse containers
ln use. These ffilscellaneous trash bin parts will be used on an on-
gOlng basls to repalr/refurbish containers which are repairable.
Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets City
speclfications.

Budget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1996-97 approprlation authority for this purchase is in
the Sol~d Waste Management Divis~onf Environmental and Public Works
Management Department, account number 27-500-441-00000-4427-00000.
Recommendat1on
It 1S recommended that the award of Bid #2593 be made to
Consolidated Fabricators Corp. at specified unit prices plus
applicable tax, as the lowest responslble b~dder.
