Introduction
ThiS report concerns an award of bid to prOVide, deliver, Install and configure nineteen
(19) computer systems for the Administration DIVISion, Library Department, In the
total amount of $49,435 76, including applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notices InViting Bids (published July 11 and 12, 1996) to
prOVide, deliver, Install and configure nineteen (19) computer systems In accordance
With City speCifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read on August
19, 1996. Proposal forms were mailed to five vendors and notIces were advertised In
accordance With City Charter and MunIcipal Code proVISIons. Four proposals were
received as follows:

The computer systems will replace staff computers as part of the Library's
automatIon upgrade program and provide systems to the Library's training proJect.
Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that It meets City specifications.

Appropnatlon authOrity for thiS purchase IS In the AdministratIon DIVISion, Library
Department, account number 01-800-613-00000-8803-00000, In the amount of
$49,435.76.
Recommendation
It IS recommended that the award of bid #2589 be made to Data ImpreSSions, Inc. In
the total amount of $49,435.76, Including applicable tax, as the lowest and best
bIdder.
