Recommendation to Award Bid to Provide Elevator Maintenance Service for
FIfteen (15) Elevators Located In SIX (6) Parking Structures, Bid #2577
Introduction
This report concerns an award of bId to provide elevator mamtenance service for fifteen (15)
elevators located In SIX (6) parking structures for the Parking Authority, Planning and
Communrty Development Department, at specified monthly rate and two (2) one-year renewal
options.

In response to published NotIces InViting Bids (published June 24 and 25, 1996) to prOVide
elevator maintenance service for fifteen (15) elevators located In SIX (6) parking structures In
accordance with City speCifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read on July
15, 1996. Proposal forms were mailed to mne vendors and notices were advertised In
accordance with City Charter and MUniCipal Code provISions Three proposals were received
as follows

This service covers routine monthly maintenance and emergency repair of the elevators In
City parking structures located In the downtown area.
Staff checked references whIch were requested as part of the bid specIfIcatIons and found
them to be satisfactory. AddItIOnally, the low bidder services other elevators located rn City
bUildings and no problems have been expenenced.
Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that It meets City speCifications.

Fiscal Year 1996-97 appropriation authority for this purchase IS rn the Parkrng Authorrty,
Planning and Community Development Department, account number 77-210-610-00000-
6691-00000. Estimated annual expenditure IS $60,000.00.
Recommendation
It IS recommended that the award of Bid #2577 be made to Amtech Elevator Services at
specIfied monthly rate and two (2) one-year renewal options, as the lowest and most
responsible bidder.
