SUBJECT: Adoptlon of Resolution Establishlng Salary for
Maintenance Crew Leader
INTRODUCTION
Thls report requests adoption of the attached salary resolution
establishing the salary rate for the classif~cat~on of Maintenance
Crew Leader.
BACKGROUND
This position was studled for compensation changes only. The
Maintenance Crew Leader now supervises the Equipment Operator II
whose E-step salary is $2,836, The current E-step salary for the
Maintenance Crew Leader at $2,777 is less than that of the highest
paid subordinate job class, The attached salary resolution adjusts
the salary of the Maintenance Crew Leader and is based on internal
equ~ty alignment factors in relationship to comparable positions
w~thin the City. The attached salary resolution is retroactive to
July 1, 1994, the date on wh~ch the Maintenance Crew Leader assumed
responslbility for supervlsing the Equipment Operator II,
BUDGET/FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds are included In the budget for Fiscal Year 1994-95 to cover
all salary costs related to the adoption of this salary resolution.

RECOMMENDATIONS
It is recommended that the City Councll adopt the attached salary
resolution establlshing the new salary rate for the classlficatlon
of Maintenance Crew Leader, retroactlve to July 1, 1994,

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA ADOPTING A SALARY RATE
FOR THE CLASSIFICATION OF
MAINTENANCE CREW LEADER
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The following monthly salary level is hereby
established, retroactlve to July 1, 1994, for the lndicated
permanent classlfication:
MAINTENANCE CREW LEADER $3,135/Month E-Step
($3,354/Month wlth PERS)
SECTION 2, The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of thlS
Resolutlon, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and effect.
