Introduction
This report recommends an award of bid to furnish and dehver miscellaneous refuse carts
for the Sohd Waste DIvIsion, Environmental and Public Works Management Department at
specified Unit pnces The estimated annual amount IS $750,000 00
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published February 10 and 11, 1998) In
accordance wIth CIty speCIfIcatIons, bIds were receIved and publIcly opened and read on
March 3, 1998 Proposal forms were mailed to eight (8) vendors and notices were
advertised in accordance with City Charter and MUnicipal Code provIsions SIX (6)
proposals were receIved as follows

yard metal binS for multi-family and commercial refuse collection
Staff has evaluated the bids and finds that It ]S In the City's Interest to Spilt the bids
between Roto Industnes (for the 95-gallon carts) and Michael Brothers, Inc (for the
300-gallon carts) Each of the bIds submitted meets City specifications

Recommendation
It IS recommended that the award of Bid #2682 be split between Rota Industnes for the
95-gallon carts at specified Unit pnces With two one-year renewal options and MIchael
Brothers, Inc at specified umt prices, as the most responsible bIdders
