Introductlon
Thls report concerns award of bid ta furnish and deliver toilet
paper, seat covers and paper towels {recycled materials) at
specified unit prices, plus applicable sales tax.
Backqround
In response to published Notices Inviting B~ds (published
December 7 and 8, 1992) ta ~urnish and deliver to2let paper, seat
covers and paper toweZs (recycled materials) in accordance with
City specxfacat~ons, bids were received and publicly opened and
read on December 23, 1992. Proposal forms were mailed ~o
twenty-s~x vendors and notices were advertised in accordance w~th
City Char~er and Municipal Code provisions. Ten proposals were
received as shown in the attached tabulation. The items cavered
by this bid include various types/sizes of paper towels, seat
covers and toi~et paper (recycled ma~erials).
Zellerbach tiaas the lota bidder on five of the six items. Staff
has reviewed the proposals and finds that it wauld not be
economica].ly feasible to split the bid award. Staff has

ecanomically feas~ble ta split the b~d award. St~ff has
evaluated Zellerbach's bid and finds that it meets City
specifications. ~
Budget~Financial Impact
~iscal Year 1992/93 appropriatian authority for this purchase is
in the maintenance accau~ts of various departments. As the
materials are drawn out af inventory, they wlll be expensed
against available FY 1992/93 appropr~ation authority.
Recammendation
It is recommended that the award af Bid #2445 be made to
Zellerbach at specif~ed unit prices, p~us applicable sa~es tax,
as the lawest bzdder.
