Ordinance for Introduction and First Reading Amending the
Santa Monica Municipal Code to Change Various Vehicle and
Parking-related Infractions to civil Offenses and to
Revise the Amount of Various Fines

The attached version of the proposed ordinance concerning
vehicle fines corrects typographical errors and inadvertent
omissions which were present in the proposed ordinance previously
distributed to the City Council.
The changes are mostly to
sections 6 and 7 of the ordinance and affect state Vehicle Code
sections, which were omitted from the earlier version.
In all other respects, no substantive changes have been made
to the ordinance.
Recommendation
The City Attorney recommends that the accompanying ordinance
be introduced and approved by the city Council at its first
reading.
