Introduction
ThiS report concerns an award of bid to repaIr/refurbish/repaint 2 cubic yard refuse bins for
the Solid Waste DIVISion, EnvIronmental and Public Works Management Department, at
speCified Unit pnces, plus applicable sales tax, With a one-year renewal option
Backaround
In response to published Notices Inviting BIds (published June 20 and 21, 1997) to
repalrlrefurblsh/repalnt 2 cubic yard refuse bms In accordance With City speCifications,
bids were received and publicly opened and read on June 30, 1997 Proposal forms were
mailed to four vendors and notices were advertised In accordance With City Charter and
MUnicipal Code prOVIsions One proposal was received as follows.

ThiS bid covers the comprehensive repair and refurbishment of 2 cubiC yard refuse bins on
site and off site Staff contacted the "no bid" vendors and inqUired as to why they did not

bId One vendor does not do repair work Consolidated Fabncators Indicated that they
cannot do repair work at this time and the other vendor did not respond to our Inquiry
P & W Bin Repair currently prOVides bin repairs for the City and IS performing satlsfactonly
Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that It meets City speCifications
