This report concerns an award of bid to furnish and deliver miscellaneous glass for bus
windows for the Mamtenance DIvIsion, Transportation Department, at speCified unit prices,

In response to pubhshed Notices Invltmg BIds (pubhshed June 13 and 16, 1997) to furnIsh
and deliver miscellaneous glass for bus windows m accordance wIth CIty speCifications,
bids were received and publicly opened and read on June 23, 1997 Proposal forms were
mailed to three vendors and notIces were advertised In accordance With City Charter and
MUnicipal Code proVISions Two proposals were received per Attachment A
This bid covers various sizes of glass for bus wmdows and Will be used to replace
damaged wmdows

Staff has evaluated both bIds and finds that they meet City specifications Curved Glass
Distributors IS Iowan four of the seven Items and did not bid three Items. Staff
recommends splitting the bid award

Inc for Items 1-4 and Universal Coach Parts Inc for Items 5-7 at specified Unit prices,
