Introduction
This report transmits the schedule for the preparation and submission of the
fifth year application for Housing and Community Development funds to the
United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and recommends
specifiC dates for the required public hearings by the City Council in accord
with the City's established CDBG procedure. In an effort to provide information
to the citizenry and to allow a feedback mechanIsm for citizens to participate
in the planning and decision-making process for the use of Community Development
Block Grant funds, It is proposed that the Council set the two required public
hearings on Housing and Community Development needs, and on the final application
for submission to HUD on the USe of the $1.392 million allocation for fifth year
expenditures.
Recommendation
City staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached schedule for a
tImely submissIon to HUD; set a public hearing on HousIng and Community Development
needs for January 9, 1979; and a public hearing on the final fifth year application
for January 23, 1979.
