Two subsequent phases, If funded, will Include upgradmg the elevators In Parking Structures Nos 1, 2, 3, and 4 1 "I flAIl 2 4 t998 DISCUSSion The renovation work m Phase I Includes replacing the elevator controllers, replacmg Intenor cab flmshes, and replacing door mechamsms and Indicator fights Phase I work IS expected to be complete mid-October, 1998 A Notice Inviting Bids to Renovate the Parkmg Structure Elevators was published on January 27 and 28. 1998 In The Outlook. as well as In four construction Journals Bid documents were sent to SIX women/mmonty business enterpnse associations (WMBE) Bid packages were requested by five compames, all of whIch attended the pre-bid Job walk The City Clerk's Office received one sealed bid at the prescribed time The bid was publicly opened and read aloud on March 2, 1998 The bid result was as follows Amtech Elevator Services $539,962 City Engineer's Estimate $500,000 Staff contacted the other compames and determmed that they did not submit bids due to the specialized nature of the work and their current work load All of the references reported that the Contractor's work was satIsfactory The State Contractors' LIcense Board verified that the Contractor's hcense IS current, active, and In good standing 2 Budaet\Fmanclallmoact - .
