SUBJECT Recommendation to authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute a
two-year contract with Innovative Resources Consultant Group, Inc In an
amount not to exceed $310,000 for continued organizational development
servIces In the Transportation Department
INTRODUCTION
Since Apn11995, the Transportation Department has engaged the servIces of Innovative
Resources Consultant Group, Inc to faCIlitate development of a Strategic Plan for Santa
Monica's Big Blue Bus, and prepare Department personnel to meet the challenges of a
changing organization This report requests that the CIty CounCil authorize the City
Manager to negotiate and execute a two-year contract In the amount of $310,000 to
complete these organizational development support servIces
BACKGROUND
The Big Blue Bus Strategic Plan, through Its goals and strategies, IS the vehicle by which
the Department Will move Into the 21 st century Since Its creatIon In 1996, the Plan has
served as a bluepnnt for SignifIcant bus servIce Improvements (such as the TIDE electnc
shuttle service, service to the Getty Center and the Green Line, as well as system Wide
service Increases). faCIlity expansIon and upgrade, and enhancement of passenger
