INTRODUCTION
ThIS report requests adoptIon of the attached ResolutIon amendIng
Resolution No. 6871 (CCS), establIshIng salaries for certain
posItions.
BACKGROUND
In
conjUnction
WIth
the
1984-85
budget,
Council
adopted
ResolutIon NO. 6871 (CCS) establIshIng salaries for certaIn
permanent and as-needed claSSificatIons effectIve July B, 1984.
A number of correctIons to tha t ResolutIon are necessItated to
prOVide parIty between SImIlarly claSSified posItIons.
The salary for LIcensing and PermIt SuperVIsor should be adjusted
to prOVIde parity wIth other posItIons represented by the
SuperVIsor's Team ASSOCIates (STA) WhICh receIved a 5% Increase
that was not antiCIpated in the original recommendatIon.
The salaries for certain as-needed posItIons Which have permanent
counterparts should be adJusted to maIntain theIr historiC parIty
Wi th those permanent pOSItions.

specIalIst and CashIer Clerk should be set at the same wage as
theIr MEA-represented counterparts and RecreatIon AIde should be
adjusted to maIntaIn the eXIstIng salary relatIonshIps In the
promotIonal lIne.
ParkIng Lot Attendant should be set at the
same wage as Its permanent Teamster counterpart. Laborer TraInee
should not rece1ve an adjustment at thIS tIme because It IS
currently eqUIvalent to Its Teamster counterpart.
BUDGET/FINANCIAL IMPACT
SuffICIent approprIatIon authorIty was prOVIded In adoptIon of
the FInance Departmentls FY 84-85 budget to accommodate the
Increase for LIcenSIng and PermIt SuperVIsor.
The as-needed
parIty adJustments recommended are somewhat lower than the
orIginal recommendatIons and WIll result In net saVIngs to the
Departments Involved.
RECOMMENDATION
It IS recommended that CounCIl adopt the attached ResolutIon
amendIng ResolutIon No. 687l (CeS) establIShIng salarIes for
certaIn pOSItIons.
