Ordinance Amending Santa Monica Municipal Code
sections 3352 to Prohibit Skateboarding
in certain Locations
At its meeting on July 1, 1986, the City Council introduced
for first reading an ordinance amending Santa Monica Municipal
Code Section 3352 to prohibit skateboarding on Library property.
The ordinance is now presented to the city Council for adoption.
RECOMMENDATION
It is respectfully recommended that the accompanying
ordinance be adopted.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA AMENDING SANTA MONICA !1UNICIPAL
CODE SECTIONS 3352 TO PROHIBIT SKATEBOARDING
IN CERTAIN LOCATIONS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Santa Monica Municipal Code section 3352 is
amended to read as follows:
SECTION
3352.
Skateboards.
Prohibited
Areas.
No
person
shall
operate, ride or propel himself or herself
by means of a skateboard over or upon any
portion of that area described in section
3611 of this Code, commonly known as the
Santa Monica Pedestrian Mall, in or upon
the Palisades Park, a public park, or in
or upon Library property.
SECTION 2.
Any provision of the Santa Monica Municipal
Code or appendices thereto inconsistent with the provisions of
this ordinance, to the extent of such inconsistencies and no
further, is hereby repealed or modified to that extent necessary
to affect the provisions of this ordinance.
