Resolution ExtendIng ProclamatIons of Local Emergency
On January 27, 1983, the Director of Emergency Services,
pursuant to Mun1cIpal Code SectIon 2305, proclaImed a local
emergency to eXIst wIthIn the CIty of Santa Monlca and made and
lssued certaIn rules and regulatIons.
On February 1, 1983, the
Clty CounCIl adopted Resolutlon Number 6621 (CCS) ratIfYlng,
conf lrmlng, and approvlng the DIrector of Erne rgency Serv 1 ces'
proclamat1on of local emergency and the rules, regulatlons, and
actIons taken pursuant thereto.
On Narch 1, 1983, the Dl rec tor of Emergency Serv lees,
pursuant to MunlcIpal Code Section 2305, proclaimed a local
emergency to exist wIthin the City of Santa MonIca and made and
lssued certain rules and regulatlons. On March 8, 1983, the City
Councll adopted Resolutlon Number 6642 (CCS) ratifYlng,
confIrmIng, and apprOVing the D1rector of Emergency Serv Ices 1
proclamation of local emergency and the rules, regulatlons, and
actIons taken pursuant thereto.
Government Code SectIon 8630 reqUIres that the C1ty Councll
reVlew at least every 14 days the need for contInUIng the local

emergency. At the present t1.me, cona 1. tlons do not warrant the
termlnat1.0n of the local emergency.
RECOMMENDATION
It IS respectfully recommended that the accompanY1.ng
resolutlon be adopted.

MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The local emergency as proclaImed by the
DIrector of Emergency Serv1ces on January 27, 1983, shall be
deemed to contInue to eXIst In the CIty of Santa MonIca untIl Its
termInatIon IS ?rOClalmed by the CIty CounCIl of the Clt_y of
Santa MonIca.
SECTION 2.
