On January 27, 1983, the Dlrector of EMergency Services,
pursuant to Munlcipal Code Section 2305, proclaimed a local
emergency to exist wlthin the City of Santa Monlca and nade and
lssued certaln rules and regulations.
On February 1, 1983, the
C1ty Counc1l adopted Resolutlon Nunber 6621
(CCS) ratifYlng,
conflrrung,
and approvlng the Director of Emergency Services'
proclanatlon of local emerqency and the rules, regulations, and
actions taken pursuant thereto.
On l'1arch I,
1983 ,

within the Clty of Santa Monica caused by storM, hlgh tides, and
heavy surfr and
WHLREAS, the City Councll was not in session on ,Tanuary 27,

WHEREAS, on January 27, 1983, the Director of Emergency
services of the City of Santa Bonica did proclaim the existence
of a local energency wlthin the City of Santa Monlca; and

approvIng, the proclamation of local emergency by the DIrector of
Emergency ServIces; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 8630, the CIty
CouncIl has reVIewed the need to contInue the local emergency,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The local emergency as proclaImed by the
DIrector of Emergency SerVIces on January 27, 1983, shall be
deemed to contInue to eXIst In the CIty of Santa MonIca until Its
termlnatlon 15 proclaImed by the City CounCIl of the Clty of
Santa MonIca.
SECTION 2. The local emergency as proclaImed by the
DIrector of Emergency SerVIces on March 1, 1983, shall be deemed
to contInue to eXIst 1n the C1ty of Santa MonIca until its
termination 1S proclaImed by the CIty CounCIl of the CIty of
Santa Monica.

SECTIOn 1. The local eMergency as proclaimed by the
Director of Energency Services on January 27, 1983, shall be
deened to continue to eXlst in the City of Santa Monica untll its
termination is prOClaimed by the City council of the City of
Santa Hon1ca.
SECTION 2. The local ef'lergency as proclained by the
Dlrector of Emergency Services on March 1, 19R3, shall be deemed
to continue to exist in the Clty of Santa Monica until its
termlnat10n is proclaimed by the City Council of the City of
Santa Bonica.

SECTION 3. The Clty Clerk shall certify to the adoptlon of
this Resolutlon, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
