Resolution Extendlng Proclamations of Local Emergency
On January 27, IgB3, the Dlrector of Emergency Servlces,
pursuant to Municlpal Code Sectlon 2305, proclaimed a local
emerqency to exist wlthln the City of Santa Monica and made and
lssued certaln rules and regulatlons.
On February 1, 1983, the
Clty Counell adopted Resolution Number 6621

and approving the Dlrector of Eroergency Se-vlces'
proclaMation of local emeraency and the rules, regulations, and
actlons taken pursuant thereto.

1983,
the Dlrector of Emergency Servlces,
pursuant to Municlpal Code Sectlon 2305, proclalmed a local
emergency to exist wlthin the City of Santa Monlca and Made and
issued certain rules and regulatlons. On March 8, 1983, the City

term1nation of the local emergency.
RECO~~ENDATION
It 15 respectfully recommended that the accompanYlng
resolutlon be adopted.

WHEREAS, Municipal Code Section 2305 authorizes the
Director of Emergency Services to proclaim the existence or
threatened eXlstence of a local emergency when the City of Santa
Monica is affected or likely to be affected by a public calamity
and the Clty Council is not in session; and
WHEREAS, cormnenclng on January 27, 1983, cond1tions of

WHERE~S, the City Council was not in session on January 27,
1983: and
WHEREAS, on January 27, 1983, the Director of Emergency
Services of the City of Santa Monica dld proclaim the existence
of a local eMergency withln the City of Santa Monica: and
WHEREAS, on February 1, 1983, the City Council adopted

WHEREAS, Dursuant to Government Code Section 8630, the City
Council has reviewed the need to continue the local emergency,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNC IL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The local emergency as proclaimed by the
Dlrector of Emergency Services on January 27, 1983, shall be
deemed to contl.nue to exist in the City of Santa Monica until its
termination 1S proclaimed by the City Counc 1.1 of the City of
Santa Monl.ca.
SECTION 2. The local emergency as proclal.med by the
Djrector of Emergency Servl.ces on March 1, 1983, shall be deemed
to continue to exist in the City of Santa Monica until its
terninat1.on 1.S proclaimed by the ci ty Counci 1 of the City of
Santa Mon1.ca.

The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
