On March 1, 1983, the Director of Emergency ServIces,
pursuant to MunIcipal Code Section 2305, proclaimed a local

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA PROCLAIMING THE
CONTINUED EXISTENCE OF THE LOCAL EMERGENCY
WHEREAS,
Municipal
Code Section 2305 authorizes the
Director of Emergency Services to proclaim the existence or
threatened existence of a local emergency when the City of Santa
Monica is affected or likely to be affected by a public calamity
and the City Council is not in session; and
WHEREAS, commencing on January 21, 1983, conditions of
extreme pertl to the safety of persons and property have arisen
within the City of Santa Monica caused by storm, high tides, and
heavy surf; and
WHEREAS, the City Council was not In session on January 27,
1983; and
WHEREAS, on January 27, 1983, the Director of Emergency
Services of the City of Santa Honica did proclaim the existence
of a local emergency within the City of Santa Honica; and
WHEREAS, on February 1, 1983, the City Council adopted
Resolution

(CCS), ratifying, confirming, and
approving, the proclamation of local emergency by the Director of
Emergency Services; and

WHEREAS, commencing on Harch 1, 1983, conditions of extreme
peril to the safety of persons and property have arisen within
the City of Santa Konica caused by storm, high tides, and heavy
surf; and
WHEREAS, the City Council was not in session at the time of
conditions giving rise to the emergencyj and
WHEREAS, on Karch 1, 1983, the Director of Emergency
Services of the City of Santa Honica did proclaim the existence
of a local emergency within the City of Santa Konicaj and
WHEREAS, on Karch 8, 1983, the City Council adopted
Resolution Number 6642 (CCSl, ratifying, confirming, and
approving, the proclamation of local emergency by the Director of
Emergency Services; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 8630, the City
Couneil has reviewed the need to continue the local emergency,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The local emergency as proclaimed by the
Director of Emergency Services on January 27, 1983, shall be
deemed to continue to exist in the City of Santa Monica until its
termination is proclaimed by the City Council of the City of
Santa Honica.
SECTION 2. The local emergency as proclaimed by the
Director of Emergency Services on March 1, 1983, shall be deemed
to continue to exist in the City of Santa Honica until its
termination is proclaimed by the City Council of the City of
Santa Honica.

SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
thls Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.

WHEREAS, commenclllg on January 27, 1963, condItIons of
extreme perIl to the safety of persons and property have arIsen
WIthIn the CIty af Santa MonIca caused by storm, hIgh tIdes, and
heavy surf; and
WHEREAS, the CIty Council was not In seSSIon on January 27,

Resolution Extending Proclamations of Local Emergency
On January 27, 1983, the Director of Emergency Services,
pursuant to Munlclpal Code Section 2305, proclaimed a local
emergency to exist within the City of Santa Monlca and made and
issued certain rules and regulations.
On February 1, 1983, the
Clty Councll adopted Resolution Number 6621 (CeS) ratlfying,
confirming, and approving the Dlrector of Emergency Services'
proclamation of local emergency and the rules, regulations, and
actlons taken pursuant thereto.
On March 1) 1983) the Director of Emergency Services,
pursuant to Munlcipal Code Section 2305, proclaimed a local
emergency to exist within the City of Santa Monica and made and
issued certain rules and regulations. On March 8, 1983, the City
Councll
adopted

6642 (CCS) ratlfYlng,
confirming, and approvlng the Director of Emergency Servlces'
proclamatlon of local emergency and the rules, regulations, and
actions taken pursuant thereto.
Government Code Section 8630 requlres that the City Council

THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA PROCLAIMING THE
CONTINUED EXISTENCE OF THE LOCAL EMERGENCY
WHEREAS,
Municipal
Code Section 2305 authorlzes the
Director of Emergency Services to proclaim the existence or
threatened eXlstence of a local emergency when the City of Santa
Monica is affected or likely to be affected by a public calamity
and the City Council is not in session; and
WHEREAS, commencing on January 27, 1983, conditions of
extreme peril to the safety of persons and property have arIsen
within the City of Santa Monlca caused by storm, hlgh tides, and
heavy surf; and
WHEREAS, the City Councll was not in seSSlon on January 27,
1983j and
WHEREAS, on January 27, 1983, the Director of Emergency
Services of the City of Santa Monica did proclaim the existence
of a local emergency within the City of Santa Monica; and
WHEREAS, on February 1, 1983, the City Council adopted

Services of the City of Santa Honlca did proclaim the existence
of a local emergency within the City of Santa Honlcaj and
WHEREAS, on March 8, 1983, the City Council adopted
Resolution Number 6642 (GCS), ~atifying, confirming, and
approving, the proclamation of local emergency by the Director of
Emergency SerV1CeSj and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 8630, the City
Council has reviewed the need to continue the local emergency,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The local emergency as proclaimed by the
Director of Emergency Services on January 27, 1983, shall be
deemed to contlnue to eXlst in the City of Santa Monica until its
terminatIon is proclaimed by the City Council of the City of
Santa Monica.
SECTION 2. The local emergency as proclaimed by the
Director of Emergency Servlces on March 1, 1983, shall be deemed
to continue to exist in the Clty of Santa Monica untIl its
termInation is proclaimed by the City Council of the City of
Santa Honica.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA PROCLAIMING THE
CONTINUED EXISTENCE OF THE LOCAL EMERGENCY
WHEREAS,
Municipal
Code SectIon 2305 authorIzes the
Director of Emergency Services to proclaim the existence or
threatened eXistence of a local emergency when the CIty of Santa
Monica IS affected or lIkely to be affected by a publIC calamity
and the City Council is not In seSSIon; and
WHEREAS, commencing on January 27, 1983, conditions of
extreme peril to the safety of persons and property have arisen
wIthin the City of Santa Monica caused by storm, high tides, and
heavy surf; and
WHEREAS, the City Council was not In seSSIon on January 27,
1983j and
WHEREAS, on January 27, 1983, the Director of Emergency
Services of the CIty of Santa Monica did proclaim the eXistence
of a local emergency within the City of Santa Monica; and
WHEREAS, on February 1, 1983, the City Council adopted

Council has reviewed the need to contInue the local emergency,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The local emergency as proclaImed by the
Director of Emergency Services on January 27, 1983, shall be
deemed to continue to eXIst in the City of Santa Monica untIl Its
terminatIon is proclaimed by the City CounCil of the City of
Santa MonIca.
~5ECTION 2. The local emergency as proclaimed by the
Director of Emergency Services on March 1, 1983, shall be deemed
to continue to exist in the CIty of Santa MonIca until Its
termination is proclaimed by the Clty CounCil of the Clty of
Santa MonIca.

SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA PROCLAIMING THE
CONTINUED EXISTENCE OF THE LOeAL EMERGENCY
WHEREAS,
Municipal
Code Section 2305 authorizes the
DIrector of Emergency Services to proclaIm the eXlstence or
threatened existence of a local emergency when the CIty of Santa
Monica is affected or likely to be affected by a public calamity
and the City CounCIl is not ln seSSIon; and
WHEREAS, commenclng on January 27, 1983, conditIons of
extreme peril to the safety of persons and property have arIsen
withIn the City of Santa MonIca caused by storm, high tides, and
heavy surfj and
WHEREAS, the Clty Councll was not in session on January 27,
1983; and
WHEREAS, on January 27, 1983, the Director of Emergency
Services of the City of Santa MonIca dId proclaim the eXIstence
of a local emergency within the CIty of Santa Monica; and
WHEREAS, on February 1,
1983, the City Council adopted

WHEREAS, commencing on March 1, 1983, conditions of extreme
peril to the safety of persons and property have arisen withIn
the City of Santa MonIca caused by storm, hlgh tides, and heavy
surf; and
WHEREAS, the CIty CouncIl was not in seSSIon at the tIme of
conditions givIng rIse to the emergencYi and
WHEREAS, on March 1, 1983, the Director of Emergency
Services of the City of Santa Monica did proclaIm the eXIstence
of a local emergency withIn the CIty of Santa Monica; and
WHEREAS, on March 8, 1983, the City Council adopted
Resolution Number 6642 (CeS), ratlfying, confIrmIng, and
approving, the proclamation of local emergency by the DIrector of
Emergency SerVIces; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code SectIon 8630, the eity
Council has reviewed the need to contInue the local emergency,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The local emergency as proclaimed by the
DIrector of Emergency SerVIces on January 27, 1983, shall be
deemed to continue to eXlst in the City of Santa Monica until Its
terminatIon IS proclaImed by the CIty Council of the CIty of
Santa Monica.
SECTION 2. The local emergency as proclaimed by the
DIrector of Emergency SerVIces on March 1, 1983, shall be deemed
to continue to eXIst in the CIty of Santa MonIca untIl Its
termInatlon is proclaimed by the CIty ~ouncIl of the City of
Santa MonIca.

SEeTION 3. The City Clerk shall certIfy to the adoption of
this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.

Resolution Extending Proclamations of Local Emergency
On January 27, 1983, the Director of Emergency Services,
pursuant to Municipal Code Sectlon 2305, proclaimed a local
emergency to eX1st wlthln the Clty of Santa Monica and made and
issued certain rules and regulatlons.
On February 1, 1983, the
City Council adopted Resolutlon Number 6621
(CCS) ratlfying,
confirming, and approvlng the Director of Emergency Services'
proclamation of local emergency and the rules, regulations, and
actions taken pursuant thereto.
On March 1,
1983, the Director of Emergency Services,
pursuant to Municlpal Code Section 2305, proclaimed a local
emergency to exist wlthin the City of Santa Monica and made and
issued certain rules and regulations. On March 8, 1983, the City
Council
adopted

6642 (CCS) ratlfying,
confirmlng, and approving the Dlrector of Emergency Services'
proclamation of local emergency and the rules, regulations, and
actlons taken pursuant thereto.
Government Code Section 8630 requlres that the City Counell
review at least every 14 days the need for contlnuing the local

emergency. At the present time, condltions do not warrant the
termination of the local emergency.
REeOMMENDATION
It is respectfully recommended that the accompanying
resolution be adopted.

MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The local ewergency as proclalmed by the

Santa Monlca.

to continue to exist ln the City of Santa Monica until its
termlnatlon lS proclaimed by the C1ty Council of the Clty of
Santa Monica.

emergency to exist within the Clty of Santa Monlca and made and
lssued certain rules and regulations. On March 8, 1983, the City
